Moyo District Local Government has embarked on the registration of members to endorse the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) candidate, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his presidential bid in the 2031 presidential election.
Williams Anyama, the NRM Chairperson for Moyo District, says the mobilization is massive, with most Local Council leaders already registered and expected to sensitize the masses.
“In the register local council one, 2 and 3 chairpersons have appended their signatures in book to defend the presidential bid for General Muhoozi for 20231 general election,” he said.
Ondendi Zakeo, one of the residents who appended his signature at the RDC’s office, explains his reasons for supporting General Muhoozi’s presidential bid.
“We want peace to continue in Uganda because he has potential to defend the peace with current position he was entrusted by the father,” he said.
Andevu Ceasor, the DLC for Laropi Town Council, says the initiative by the NRM and PLU to conduct the endorsement activity together is not proper, since they are different entities, which he says could affect the operation of government in the near future.
Amoko Emmanuel, the LC1 Chairperson of Metu Quarter Village, welcomes the initiative but calls for more community sensitization.
For the last one week, more than two hundred 200 people have already registered at both the Office of the Resident District Commissioner and the NRM offices.
