Stakeholders in Moyo district have expressed dissatisfaction over the shs 100 million allegedly given to NRM, a section of the opposition and independent members of Parliament.

The allegations have since this week caused uproars in the country through both the mainstream and social media with many terming the MPs as greedy and selfish persons.

Perac Everest a medical doctor at Moyo mission health Centre III says that if this money could at be allocated to sectors such as education or health, it would ensure better service delivery.

“If you look down in the community, the health services are really not enough. For me, if possible the government could send the cash to various departments it being education or health services to ensure at least what is required of the sectors, construction of health units as well as the man power, so I think if this is channeled in that manner to improve in the heath sector it will be a better way, “Emphasized Perac.

Inyala John Francis the officer in-charge Moyo sub-county briefed that there must be an assessment by government on development before disseminating money to MPs.

“My advice would have been that the government would have first assessed what members of parliament have done on ground, especially in their constituencies to see what development they have done or they are just eating the government monies for nothing, “Inyala expressed.

However Andreli Inyasio the local council III Moyo sub-county expressed disappointment over the Bonanza.

“It is quite disappointing, if you look at other sectors like health sector we have got shortages of medicines but instead of directing that huge amount of money to these kind of sectors. It’s very disappointing that the government could also do this kind of mistake and allocate this amount of money in to the accounts of individuals and yet these are well paid parliamentarians but later on coming down on to the lower local government what we do here on ground cannot even be compared to that of an MP who is earning millions of shillings. ”Andreli stretched.

For many Ugandans, the timing and secrecy of the Shs100 million payout have revived old questions about classified expenditures, patronage, and accountability in Parliament.
