PDM BENEFICIARIES IN LEFORI SUB-COUNTY CONCERNED OVER DELAYED DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS

Parish Development Model beneficiaries in Lefori Sub County Moyo district are furious over the irregularities in the disbursement of PDM funds as they complain that messages informing them that the monies would be credited on their accounts in 24 hours has not happened taking over two weeks.
Paraku Ali Swadick a resident of Lefori Sub County asked for clarity as the message for 24 hours is taking almost 2 weeks. “The issue of parish development model delayed us a lot and I received my message at 12:13pm on Thursday last week up to now with the 24 hours given I have not seen anything in my accounts,” Ali disclosed.
He added that it’s a big doubt for him as he doesn’t know whether the money has been deposited in his account or not, “Down here they are talking of PDM but if it reaches the district, I don’t know what’s going on maybe they are doing business with the money me I don’t know,” he added.
Another beneficiary only identified as Musema asked whether the concerned authorities are following the progress “They are telling us the money is there in the district, we should hurry with the process so as to receive the money, but up to date close to a week, why is process delaying and even they deceived me that I should wait for 24 hours. Are the concerned persons following the process or not,” he inquired.
In response, Gore Coffin the RDC Moyo said, the massages they are receiving is coming from the ministry of finance where the PDM money goes to the bank.
“So in the information system, that means you are ready to receive Money now the massage comes to your phone and the bank receives the same message, now what’s left is the money to move from bank of Uganda to the bank account,” RDC revealed.
He pointed that the moment the money enters, all those who have received massage it means that the money is ready to the released, that’s why it’s taking that time as the government is telling you to be prepared any time within 24 hours you are going to receive money. “So the moment the money clicks the bank then it’s forwarded direct to your accounts that’s the system of control now” Gore assured the beneficiaries.
According to the government directive, PDM monies are disbursed from the ministry straight to PDM SACCO accounts which inturn is sent to the beneficiaries.
