POLICE ISSUES PUBLIC SAFETY MEASURES AHEAD OF FESTIVITIES

Police have issued guidelines to ensure public safety ahead of festive season period.
Speaking with journalists in his office SP Collins Asea the Regional Police Public Relations Officer of West Nile Region outlined the public safety measures and warned against non-compliance.
“We are expecting a lot movements in and out from West Nile especially passengers and vehicles during this festive season period and I am urging motorists to have riding and driving permits, they should avoid over speeding and over loading because these are the major causes of accident in this region. Cooperate with the police on ground when they stop you to check some of these requirements from you”
Asea identified some of the black spots in Arua City people should be aware of during this festive season.
“The first security starts with before we come in as police, some people wants free things always and quick money if know very well that you have not worked for any money I am advising you please don’t go for that cheap money criminals will be throwing on the streets to deceive you and this criminals operate at around the areas next to YY bus terminal, Baby coach bus terminal, Sansiro area, areas next to Oil well fuel station, market lane and Duka road be alert while moving on the road”
The police spokesperson further urged the event organizers to get permissions from the police first before staging an event and assures the public that police will address the robbery cases on the roads from Enzeva to Kuluva in Arua District and other Insecurity cases across West Nile Region.
