PRAISES AS MUBS ARUA CAMPUS MARKS 20 YEARS IN WEST NILE

Twenty years of its existence in Arua, the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Arua campus was filled with the Messages of growth and development in the west Nile sub-region as a partner contributing to the economic prosperity of the sub-region.
On September 6th at its campus, stakeholders rejoiced and celebrated the milestone that began in 2006, providing management, finance, and leadership skills to prepare students for careers in commerce, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership and its achievements across west Nile.
The MUBS arua campus chief, Vincent Obedgiu recounted the achievements of the institution within the twenty years of existence pledging to cause more lasting impacts.
“A number of students that come here have been graduating and as they graduate, they are in the community making lasting impact. And moving forward, we shall continue to support and grow the institution and we request you people of different calibers; institutions, and organizations to support us and trust us with your students, we shall be able to transform them for this nation. Let us work hand in hand together to cause a lasting impact because this nation holds us accountable,” he noted.

The Bishop of Madi-West Nile diocese, rt. Rev. Charles Andaku who presided at the function lauded the management of the University for establishing the Arua Campus;
“This institution has lived for twenty years with achievements, with progress. we want to thank the vision bearers who have brought this campus here for us to access this university education easily without transport cost, if you are to go to Kampala I don’t know how much you will spend but God has brought it at doors, you thank God for the vision bearers,” Bishop said.
Prof. Moses Muhwezi the principal of Makerere University Business School pledges to continuously support the arua campus to see its prosperity;
“Thank you so much chief for organizing thanks giving for this campus, its 20 years. You know I was among the people who stepped on Nakawa campus on day one, I have the history of MUBS and I was in that meeting that decided to start a campus here. So you are talking to the person who started this campus and I will support you, I congratulate you. At twenty years, you know what you have gone through,” Muhwezi noted.

The arua city lord mayor his worship Lawrence Alionzi encouraged the students of MUBS to trust the institution;
“In 2011, Makerere University adopted what is called the college system, so the entire university is broken into colleges and within the college, there are schools, so there’s a college for business under which Makerere University Business School falls. Let there be no doubt in your mind that you are associated with the global Makerere brand.”

Whereas the guild president Awongo Jonathan Onzi noted that, “This celebration is confirming our future into greatness. We are no longer praying to go to Kampala to make it, we are praying for skills to create homes here in Arua, we want west Nile to succeed because we stayed.” Onzi said.
Makerere University Business School (MUBS) offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs across business, management, computing, and economics fields.
The Arua Campus has graduated hundreds of students across various cohorts since its inception, such as an initial cohort of about 164 students during its early regional branch milestones, with ongoing annual parallel graduations adding hundreds more each year.
The twenty years of the MUBS arua campus was marked under the theme, “Twenty years of God’s faithfulness from humble beginnings to lasting impacts.”
