THE LITTLE SISTER OF MARY IMMACULATE APPEALS FOR SUPPORT TO RENOVATE THEIR DELAPITATED STRUCTURE IN ARUA DIOCESE

The congregation of the Little sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu is appealing to benefactors, development partners, friends and well-wishers to support the renovation of their Ediofe community house in Arua catholic diocese.
The Ediofe community house that has served as residence for the sisters, and an important center for prayer, formation ,hospitality among others has lasted for over 80 years and have broken-down and now requires urgent renovation,
Sister Cecilia Florence Amule, the project director and the community leader explains that the condition of the community structures are so wanting,
“It has overstayed, the condition is not now good for the sisters, and the room itself is not worth for welcoming visitors, that’s why we are here to appeal to the public to come and rescue us, to mobilize resources, help us to make this place very comfortable, suitable and convenient for the sisters and for the visitors,” Sister Cecilia pleaded.

Paul Lule, the chairperson of the project says, the initiative is to preserve a facility that has served the church and the community in Arua diocese for many years,
“These houses have stayed for more than 80 years and right now the standard is very poor, we responded very quickly to come and see that we can at least respond to their cry because their residences are not secure for them to sleep, lets renovate as well as we look in to put a new structure,” Paul appealed.
Sister Rosemary Akello, the project treasurer confirms that, the fundraising is already on course and appreciates every community member for their contributions,
“Within a brief period of time, we are able to collect something form the community, so far we have cash at hand, Two million, five hundred fifty five thousand, and we also have member who have pledges, is money was contributed mostly by the committee,” sister rosemary confirmed.
Monsignor Kasto Adeti, the vicar general of Arua diocese says the renovation will contribute to sustaining the ministry of the sisters and their service to the diocese and the region,
“The little sister, they do teaching, they run schools, they even run health centers, they do other charitable works, so in Arua diocese here, they have been helping us a lot, so it is right and fitting that we as a diocese support them,” Monsignor said.
The central organizing committee for the fundraising launch have proposed renovation project budget at an estimated cost of over 106 million based on the bill of quantities.
