80 women Leaders in the six sub- counties of Maracha district have benefited from a four days skill training program to enhance their skills on income generation.

According to Ayaka Rose Atima the woman Member of Parliament for Maracha district, the training targets women because they are bread winners of their families.

Some of the trainees (women) said the training is a self-help project in their areas in which people will be able to come and buy from them and they are going to be in position to pass the knowledge and skills to other women which in-turn will in promoting local entrepreneurship and trade to build women.

Ofezu Kasiano a health care giver and councilor in Maracha hospital who attended the training appealed to the women to implement what they have learnt to help them.

Meanwhile Maracha district Resident District Commissioner Lolim Simon during the opening of the training said the women should embrace team work.

He also stressed that it was right for women to demand for services from the government challenging the leaders from the different parishes to bring services closer to their people.

The four day residential training which equipped women with skills to locally manufacture soap and cosmetics as well as tie and color clothes ended on 3rd March 2018. End
