The Archdiocese of Gulu has launched the regional program for Uganda Martyrs’ Day celebration 2019.
Archbishop John Baptist Odama, while speaking with the media from his residence at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Parish Gulu (For-God), said this year’s celebration offers a great opportunity to the believers in Gulu Archdiocese after celebrating one-hundred years of the martyrdom of the two Acholi martyrs, Blessed Daudi Okello and Gildo Irwa.
Monsignor Matthew Odong, the Vicar General of Gulu Archdiocese, also the chairperson Central Organizing Committee for the preparations of Uganda Martyrs day, said the celebration is God’s project that should be supported by the believers.
The Archdiocese of Gulu has lined up a number of activities such as radio talk shows, dinners, community outreaches to help raise the 900-million shillings needed for organizing the event. End.
