Lightening has struck dead a 14-year-old boy and critically injured three others recovering from St Joseph Hospital in Maracha district.
The incident happened on Monday September 2 2019 after a heavy rainfall down pour that lasted two hours.
A resident of Ayivu B village, Otravu Parish Oluffe Sub County Okuyo Gift died on arrival at the hospital.
Other victims who are recovering after being rushed to St Joseph Hospital include Onzima Norbert a brother to the deceased resident of Ayivu B Village together with Viko Gertrude and Arima Aldo Residents of Nyoki Village in Ambidro Parish Kijomoro Sub County.
According to Inziku martin the father of the two victims of Nyoki village the lightening stuck his children as they sought for refuge in the kitchen.
Dr. Paul Onzubo Maracha district health officer advices the public to be conscious during the rainy season. According to the DHO people should desist from seeking refugee under big trees, switching of electrical appliances like phones, TV’s radio among others, put on plastic foot wear when there is heavy rain.
