Police in Hoima district have exhumed the body of a three-weeks-old baby allegedly killed by the mother a week ago.
The mother of the deceased was arrested following a tip-off by the residents who got suspicious after realizing the newly-born baby had disappeared.
Albertine regional police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza, says the mother led the police officers including a pathologist to where she had buried the baby in a cassava garden.
According to police, the mother killed the baby with rat poison after failing to identify the father.
The exhumed body has been re-buried at the mother’s home in Buhimba Sub County.End
