Tax payers in Arua town have asked URA to improve customer relations to boost revenue collection.
During a half day integrity forum convened by URA at Tropical suites in Arua the tax payers accused enforcement officers of URA of been harsh to tax payers & some staff involving in corrupt practices a factor that contributes to tax evasion.
Jackson Atima, the chairperson of Uganda chamber of commerce in Arua called URA to intensify tax education to improve tax compliance.
The URA domestic taxes officer Northern region however called all officers to act ethically while on duty
Dr. Protazio Begumisa, the commissioner internal audit & compliance warned the URA staff on corrupt tendencies & called tax payers to report such officers to relevant authorities for action.
The forum was attended by civil servants, and the private sector. End
