Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga has threatened to boycott the next month’s presidential election re-run.

According to Odinga he will not take part in a presidential election re-run without legal and constitutional guarantees.

Odinga has criticized the electoral commission for announcing the new election date saying opposition parties had not been consulted.

Odinga also wants some of the commissioners to be sacked, alleging that they are partisan. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, last evening announced October 17th this year as the date for the presidential elections.

The declaration came three days after the Supreme Court annulled the victory of President Uhuru Kenyatta, over irregularities and called for fresh elections within 60 days. End
