COURT: 45 YEAR OLD SENTENCED TO SIX MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR TOUTURING A MINOR

Arua Chief Magistrate Paul Matiama has sentenced one Ayikoru Zainabu 45 year old housewife to six months in prison after she pleaded guilty of child abuse and torture.
Ayikoru, a resident of Lazoo Village, Lazebu Parish, Logiri Sub County, Arua District confirmed burning the fingers of a 5-year old girl, a pupil and resident of Lazoo Village on September 17, 2024 as punishment for taking food and sauce meant for lunch without permission.
The case was registered under General Enquiry File with the number, 010/2024 and opened at Arua Central Police station.
After the arrested Ayikoru was arraigned in chief magistrates court in Arua city , she later pleaded guilty to the offense and appealed for a lenient sentence since she is a first time offender and did not waste courts time and being a mother of four children.
