ACHOLI PARAMOUNT CHIEF ELECTED AS THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE GREATER NORTH

Cultural leaders from the different cultural institutions in the greater north have elected the paramount chief of Ker Kal Kwaro Acholi, David Onen Acana II as their interim team Leader.

This was done during a consultative meeting that brought together cultural institutions from greater North held at flight view hotel in Bardege-Layibi division Gulu city, that primarily focused on fostering unity among the cultural leaders.

His Highness Acana thanked his fellow chiefs for trusting him with the mandate of leading the team, “I now challenge us to make sure that our people live and enjoy quality life, they should be productive and work hard to improve on their household incomes so that they are able to pay their children in school and they have access to quality health,” he remarked.

Emorimor Papa III of Iteso, His highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng applauded His highness David Onen Acana II for coming up with this initiative of uniting all the cultural institutions in the greater North.

“I would like to sincerely thank God for working through you to come up with this initiative of calling us together, you know in every movement without a leader you are moving nowhere but today he has made you to come up and lead us so we confirm you as our team leader, allow me also to appreciate the prime ministers of the various cultural institutions who made it for this meeting,” he echoed.

The representative of won Nyaci from Lango cultural institution Mr. Anthony Olobo, said they will continue to work together with the paramount chief of Ker Kal Kwaro Acholi and the other cultural institutions in greater North.

The consultative meeting which was under the theme “the development of the greater north” was attended by the cultural leaders for Acholi, Lango, Jopadhola, Alur, Kumam, Teso, Lugbara, Madi and Karimojong.
