While responding weather DRDIP has an impact in community, Honorable Moriku Joyce Kaduchu, the state minister for primary education who represents moyo district women in parliament says DRDIP has succeeded in terms of its set objectives.

“I can say that DRDIP has achieved its target in terms of infrastructure, it has empowered the people, people have acquired machines like grinding mills, people got goats, and they got things that empowered the community.” Hon Min Moriku said. She added that DRDIP created team work as the people have been working communally.

DRDIP is a world bank funded project through investment project financing IDA loan to government of Uganda of about 50 million dollars and is implemented by office of the prime minister.

Mr. Gore Goffine, the RDC of moyo says, development through DRDIP is visible.  “There is one component of DRDIP there it perform very well is the component of the infrastructure development, it is visible. You can see that in the district where there was DRDIP project infrastructure have improved than the other districts.” Mr. Gore said.

However he said the component of livelihood had low impacts. People got the money but because of little knowledge there is no much to show.

The objective of DRDIP is to improve access to basic social services, expand economic opportunities and enhance environment management for communities hosting refugees in the target areas.
