MINISTER URGES YOUTH IN MA’DI SUB REGION TO EMBRACE SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS

The state minister for primary education honorable Dr. Moriku Joyce Kaduchu, who is also the Moyo district woman member of parliament, has called on youth in Ma’di sub region to embrace sustainable projects for development at home levels.

The minister made call on Saturday in Moyo town while addressing journalists on youth day. She appealed to the youth be in groups to benefit from government programs. “The key aspect for the youth to take as a priority now is forming viable groups to benefit from the established projects for the youths,  as a youth should have positive mindsets especially on getting money that it’s through hard work and this can be achieved through embracing sustainable government projects for the youth,’’  Dr. Moriku said.

Mr. Drajuruga Isaac Vuni, a resident of Moyo Sub County in Moyo district noted the various government projects and programs if embraced by the young persons in the district, will address some challenges being encountered by them. “There are many projects that can put money in our pockets if we can develop a culture of hard work, tolerance and perseverance, as young persons in Moyo and ma’di sub region in general, let’s avoid idleness, bad social groups and have daily work plans for us to succeed in the current generation.” Mr. Drajuruga remarked.

Drajuruga emphasized that the youth in the sub region still have second chances to fight for their future since all hopes of taking region to next generation either socially, economically and politically is on them.

Moyo district shall celebrate this year’s youth day on 19th august 2023 in Moyo town council.

However, Mr. Obulejo Buti Williams a business person in Moyo town council warned youth against drug abuse and idleness. He said many have lost golden opportunities due to drug abuse. “Take education serious, avoid substance abuse and stop night clubbing as a young person.  Some of these things really don’t make sense in your lives. You can see Most of them are so much involved in chewing Mairungi which can cause frustrations and stress.” Buti added.  He appealed to youth to stay focus and put God before everything they do.
 
This year’s international youth day is under the theme “accelerating recovery from COVID-19 and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the role of the youth”.
