Second term has commenced with minimal challenges across schools. When radio pacis sampled some schools within Arua City, most schools had recorded a high turn up of both learners and teachers on day one. Lessons also kicked off on day one.

At Ediofe boys primary school about 50% of learners started lessons on day one, while taking stalk of pupil turn up, the head teacher Victor Alioni expressed disappointment over the low turn up of learners. “The challenge I am facing is if you look at the number of pupils who have turned up today that is 895 out of 1630, which means that actually half of the total enrollment of ediofe boys primary school, the turn up is not good to me” he said

Out of 1354 pupils at St Jizito Ediofe orphans primary   at least 1152    reported   on day one, Gaetano Arumadri the deputy head teacher in charge of administration reveals that the school has prioritized to complete second term syllabus ahead of time. “Because as a school when the term begins we must reach out to the teachers to see that we plan all the activities of the term, we begin with preparations to go to class, lesson plan, scheming, making learning aids and so on and we have said syllabus for term 2 must be covered within term 2” he emphasized

However Jackson Atiku, the deputy head teacher of bishop   Tarantino Memorial SS cautioned parents to desist from the vice of sending their children late to school once the academic term starts. “You know most of our parents generally have that attitude for not sending students timely for beginning of the term like even in the whole week, you will find that some people are still at home waiting for school fees and other preparations are not done early on the side of the parents”, he explained

According to the academic calendar second term resumes on 29th May and is expected to end on 25th August 2023.
