ADJUMANI DISTRICT LAUNCHES TRADE SHOW FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Adjumani district local government in partnership with Adjumani town council have organized a trade show to promote business among entrepreneurs in and outside the region for economic development, under the theme; linking the future, Building bridges for business success. It’s the third annual trade fair organized in the district with the aim of bringing together different businesses at local, regional, national and international levels link and network for their products and services in order to promote local economic development.

Mr. Obulejo Patrick Bandasi, The Adjumani district commercial officer, cited the challenge of low turnoturn of the different exhibitors at the trade fair and he further appealed to the management of Adjumani business association to have a registered association in the district since it is the back bone for full support in mobilizations for future engagements.

Mr. Amba Richard Bakayi the vice chairman Adjumani district business association urged the financial institutions to support the small businesses to grow. “We the business men and women in Adjumani we have the assets to be put as collaterals to borrow huge amount of money to support our business to grow bigger”. He added

Mr. Eriku Patrick Keleture the town clerk Adjumani town council appealed to the people of Adjumani to adopt this kind of approach of local economic development which we are trying to promote.

Mr. Mangapi Lawrence who doubles as the Chairman LC3 of Adjumani town council and the chairman organizing committee for the Trade fair pledged to ensure that all stakeholders’ commitment is adhered to and this will attract many people from across the border.” As I speak I had engagements with our brothers and sisters from neibouring country of south Sudan, they have shown positive attitude towards this approach to boost local led economic activities”. He revealed

Mr. Data peter, The resident district commissioner Adjumani district who was the guest of honor during the trade fair launch says this is an opportunity to share and link with other people in other places and he is further appealed to the business community to get more involved in this kind programs since they are part of the people who will the community with information about such organizations.

The 3rd Annual trade fair which started on the 20th/November/2023 is expected to last for seven days and has attracted several exhibitors which includes FINCA Uganda, Centenary bank, Akubus, Apiviva, Sun cultre and Adjumani town council Sacco among others.
