Three members of the congregation of the Benedictine sisters of perpetual Adoration of the most holy trinity on Thursday 25th January 2024 professed their first commitment to serve God IN Arua diocese on the feast of the conversion of St. Paul.

The three reverend sisters, Mary Michelin from Kasese Diocese, Rev. Sr. Mary Agatha from Kabale Diocese, and Rev. Sr. Maria Gorreti from Hoima Diocese took their first professional after undergoing years of formation at the convent.

Sr. Mary Michelin one of the candidates for the profession from Kasese diocese described the moment as a dream come true. “When I was a child at the age of 10years, I wanted to be a religious and today, I have professed. Am now sister Michelin, and am very happy”, she joyfully said

In the catholic tradition, the family is the foundation of vocation as it is the role of parents to drive their children to the call of God.

Enid Mbambu a parent of one of the sisters hailing from Kasese diocese promised to continue praying for her daughter in the vocation, “This is the first time for us to have a reverend sister, we thank God without end for this gift. We will continue praying to her.” Enid said.

While presiding over the profession on the delegation of the bishop of Arua diocese, Msgr. Casto Adeti the vicar general of Arua diocese urged the newly professed sisters to embrace their vocation.

But Rev. Sister Mary Jacinta Okusaru the mother prioress of the congregation of the Benedictine sisters of the perpetual adoration of the holy trinity cautioned parent against choosing vocations for their children. “it’s good to always bring your children in fear of God whether they are going to be called to be religious of different congregations or they are called to married life, let your children be free to choose whatever life they want to choose.” Rev. Mary Jacinta emphasized.

The Community of the Benedictine sisters of perpetual adoration of the holy trinity has a total 35 members living in their monastery, with the living as contemplatives in an enclosure with the mandate of praying for the other people who may not get time to pray for themselves.
