BISHOP ODOKI ELEVATES ST .KIZITO LOGOBA CHAPEL TO A EUCHARISTIC CENTER.

The ordinary Bishop Arua diocese, Sabino Ocan Odoki, has elevated St .Kizito Logoba chapel in Moyo Catholic Parish under Moyo vicariate into a Eucharistic center. The colorful ceremony held on Thursday 25th January 2024 at the chapel was graced by bishop of Arua diocese, Rt. rev Sabino Ochan Odoki.

The chapel that started in 1924 by Rev Father Molnaro Luigi the first white priest under a guava tree, locally called “eleu” in maditi the current oloro borehole this year (2024) will mark one hundred years of existence.

The decree of elevation was given by the Bishop ordinary of Arua diocese, during the function, Odoki thanked the Christians for keeping their faith alive urging them to recognize the lord’s presence in the chapel. “Today as we open the Eucharistic center the presence of Christ, God will be more visible in logoba st.kizito. This church is not just a building but it’s a house of God where He lives in the Eucharist, Jesus will always be with you”, the bishop explained.

Bishop commissioned Catchiest Anyanzo Julius as an extra -ordinary minster for Holy Communion. During the same function, the bishop also confirmed 96 candidates for the holy sacrament of confirmation and also launched the construction fathers’ house project.

Rev .Father monsignor Eliseo ovure, the episcopal vicar of moyo vicariate who is also the parish priest moyo catholic parish appealed to the confirmed Christians to preserve the holy sacrament.  ‘‘First of all being confirmed is very easy but the most difficult part is how to preserve the sacrament because it means you are ready to serve the lord like the disciples and also portray your faith through the actions,’’ the priest remarked.

The parish priest furthermore appreciated bishop odoki for the development of pastoral structures in the vicariate. He called on the Christians to change their sets for the growth and development of their faith following the establishment of a Eucharistic center.

Mr. Andreli Inyansio, The local council 3 chairperson moyo sub county, said the elevation of the chapel has brought services closer to the Christians of Logoba.
There are 3,306 baptized christens, of which 1,949 received Holy Communion, 1,321 have received sacrament of confirmation, 97 have got sacrament of matrimony.
