As the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces UPDF prepares to commemorate the 43rd tereh sita this year, they have enlisted number of social responsibility activities for the civilians applauding them for their support

At the official flag off of activities at mayor’s garden in Arua city on 2^nd February 2024, the RCC of Arua city Charles Ichogor lauded president Museveni for transforming the UPDF. “I would like to thank his excellence general Yoweri kaguta president museveni for the visionary leadership he has given this country, he has transformed the UPDF,  the UPDF  now is a professional army, the UPDF is consistent ,the UPDF is organized the UPFD is patriotic and l would like to congratulate you for being our foot soldiers.”

At the same gathering the brigadier commander Lt Col. Nathan Bainomugisha said the activities done are to appreciate the wanaichi for their support to the army in the years of struggle. “It is a week we come out of the barracks and visit the wanainchi in recognition of their contribution, since the beginning of the struggle far back in 1981.Tereh sita is actually a day commemorated for the support of the people for NRA.”

In appreciation of the services rendered by the army, the City mayor of Arua City Wadri Sam Nyakua pledged to support the army in serving the nation. “UPDF is a very professional and revolutionary army, we want to give them our support. We want them to be our allies in case of anything we can be able to collaborate with them this peace we have today is because many people shed their blood so we join the army in celebrating this day.”

The main event of Tereh sita will be celebrated in Bugiri district on 6^th of February 2024.
