Moyo district local government recently carried out a stakeholder’s engagement on youth livelihood and women entrepreneurship program implementation.

Anyama David, the District Community Development Officer said the target of the program is aimed at awaking the community on the areas of filling of forms and benefiting from the program. “Apart from that, we have also given out money under Youth Livelihood Program (YLP) amounting to 800,000,000 and under Uganda Woman Entrepreneurship Program (UWEP) also amounting to about 324,000,000”, he added.

Tiondi Dominic, the LC 3 Chairperson Lefori town council said when they are introducing new project to benefit targeted population or beneficiaries they should first revisit the other programs whether they yielded fruits or not and then what are those challenges to be addressed.

Meanwhile Asienzo Catherine the senior assistant town Clerk Laropi town council said, it’s easy to make follow up with households than having a bigger number “You see we have five hundred people but with no success story, so is it easier to count a household to be like a group, it will be easy for us to truck and for us to follow” she disclosed

Kabiku Emmanuel Vuzi called for team spirit from both the top leadership and lower leaders. Moses the regional coordinator for YLP and UWEP Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social and Development urged the beneficiaries not to be misled by the cooperated leaders.
