BISHOP CALLS ON PRIESTS TO EXERCISE HUMILITY IN THEIR MINISTRY

The priests in Arua diocese are called upon to exercise humility in their duty of giving guidance to the Christians and spreading the word of God. This appeal was made at the priestly anniversary of Father Tonino Pasolini, and Monsignor Charles Idraku at Arua diocese media center, radio Pacis on the March 19, 2024.

While giving homily at the celebrations, the bishop of Arua diocese, Sabino Ochan Odoki urged the priests in the diocese to take the example of humility from St Joseph in their priestly ministry. “Our duty is to give good guidance to the people of God, take the example of St Joseph, humility is strength,” Bishop said.

Similarly, Fr. Tonino Pasolini called for love to go hand in hand with humility in Christian faith. He cited the example of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples to show his love and humility and urged God’s servants to copy that example. “We make mistakes but God keeps loving, and to me, one symbolic action is the one of washing the feet,” said Fr. Tonino.

In this anniversary, Fr. Tonino Pasolini, a comboni missionary celebrated 60years of priesthood and 85 years of his life, meanwhile Msgr. Charles Idraku celebrated 25 years of priesthood. While several other priests also joined in to celebrate their anniversaries.
