Mr.Abima Rahuman the vice chairperson Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) West Nile zone urges the teams that would have finished in the top, three for boys and two for girls to represent the region at the national level.

“as West Nile zone we are really very sad that last year we had three teams that qualified for the National championship but only one team that is Arua ss that was able to make it St. James’s ss Dzaipi and Alere ss withdrew but our sadness is that they didn’t communicate we should have replaced them earlier, therefore as a zonal committee, we have come up with measures where a team fails to show up after qualifying, that team is liable for a heavy punishment including future bans from school activities”.

Bithola Francis the Organizing secretary USSSA West Nile zone is overwhelmed by the turn up of the schools especially in the girls football, “I am really very happy about the number of the schools embracing girls football, we already have 37 girls teams with the remaining three expected sooner than later that should be the spirit if girls football is to grow especially in our region.”

The games will start on April 8, and end on April 17, 2024. Three boys’ teams and two girls’ teams shall represent West Nile zone at the national championship that will be hosted by Masaka S.S for boys and Ndejje S.S for girls’ football starting April, 27, 2024.
