BISHOP ANDAKU TO HOLD HIS SEVEN YEAR SERVICE ANNIVERSARY

Madi West Nile diocese is set to hold the 7th thanksgiving anniversary of Bishop Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku the 7th bishop of the diocese.

Bishop Andaku, an educationist by profession was elected the 7th bishop of Madi West Nile diocese by the house of the bishops on November 2016 succeeding the then retired Bishop Rt. Rev. Joel Obetia. He rose through the ranks of chaplain in 2005 to 2011, to an associate vicar, then later a vicar from 2012 to 2016.

Speaking to the media on Thursday 4th April, 2024 at the diocesan headquarter, Bishop Andaku stated that, “this thanksgiving anniversary is basically to thank the Almighty God for his goodness, love and mercies, he has held me from day one to date, for the protection and guidance, for the grace and miracles he has done. Being with us and for us for all these 7 years and using this opportunity to also give offering, thanks and gifts towards the construction of the Golden Jubilee office block to fulfill the diocesan strategic plan 2024 to 2028”, Bishop indicated.

During the 7 years of Bishop Andaku’s charge, Madi West Nile diocese has seen a drastic transformation ranging from improved welfare for the clergy, their literacy level and infrastructure.

Godfrey Nasser the diocesan secretary Madi West Nile diocese recalled that, “In 2016 when Bishop Joel declared that he was retiring, there was a lot of tension, people were eagerly waiting and when Bishop Joel broke the news that Rev. Can. Charles Collins Andaku had been chosen as the 7th bishop of the diocese, then they were people who were asking who is he?, will he manage?, 7 is very remarkable and historical and so we are celebrating a complete ministry of the bishop in the diocese”, Nasser recalled.  

Madi West Nile diocese is currently undertaking a project of constructing the golden Jubilee office block as a landmark in celebrating the achievement of the bishop.
Richard Anguyo, the organizing chairman for the thanksgiving appealed to the public to join and celebrate the bishop. “I humbly appeal to fellow Christians of all walks of life to join our beloved bishop in giving thanks to God and extend support to the construction of the golden jubilee office,” Anguyo pleaded.

The 7th anniversary of Bishop Charles Collins Andaku is scheduled for Sunday 7th April 2024 at Arua core PTC play grounds.
