Moyo SACCO has once again offered educational scholarships in the 2024/2025 educational year to four students from districts of Moyo and Obongi in an initiative of giving back to the community. This is an annual program rolled out to the well performing students in the two district.

Denya Francis a board member at Moyo SACCO who heads marketing and publicity in the institution explained the program of awarding the best UCE exams. “This program started in 2008 which the board and management of Moyo SACCO found the best way to give back to the community through having sponsorships awarded to the candidates for UCE exams,” he said.  
 
On behalf of St. Andrew College Moyo, Mawa Patrick the principal praised Moyo SACCO for the initiative they have taken to build the education sector in the two districts. ”We thank Moyo SACCO for the opportunity of picking the four students to educate them beside the financial discipline, education being given to the community members is a very good way forward,” Mawa said.

Despite getting the educational sponsorship, Asibuku Ben one of the beneficiary from Obongi district said he still gets a lot of challenges in Obongi  “Though I succeeded, there are a lot of challenges I face in Obongi, there is no proper teaching though teachers do teach,” said Asibuku. Asibuku advised the students to struggle and work hard for them to achieve their goals.
     
Lada Godfrey another beneficiary promised to work hard and not disappoint his parents. “My main focus is not to disappoint my Parents and also at the same time to get very good points so that I can represent my village and the community,” he noted.

The Moyo SACCO sponsorship award runs for 2 years and so far has taken 16 years since its commencment in 2008.
