Terego district local government has tabled a draft budget of 28,178,186,000 for the financial year 2024/2025 which is less by one billion shillings for the financial year 2023/2024.

The secretary of finance Terego district local government Mr. Geoffrey Opima while presenting this draft budget before the councilors recently in the district council hall explained that, ֞details of the operationalization of the budget have been forwarded to respective committees for further discussions’’.

However, Honorable Wilfred Saka, Terego district chairman called for teamwork amongst sector heads for better development in the district. ֞You go back to your various departments and re-organize because some heads of department are not convening meetings and planning becomes very difficult''. said Saka.

Meanwhile, the Resident District Commissioner for Terego Festus Ayikobua requested departmental heads to fully take their responsibilities and mandate and also do what they are supposed to do so as to achieve the district’s target.

Equally, Sunday Ayikoru, the Terego district Vice chairperson challenged sector heads to have proper planning of the budget allocated to each sector. ֞Budget is not an area of joke. Planning is done by the departmental heads compiled by the district planner but let us have proper design of the budget allocated to each sector’’. Sunday said.

Budgeting helps formulate activities, allowing it to better understand priorities, figure out how resources can be allocated, and which areas need to be re-evaluated.
