Councillors in Dranya Sub county, koboko district have been called upon to identify more revenue sources

The new councillors of Dranya Sub county,in Koboko district, that were sworn in have been called upon to identify revenue sources within the sub county so as to increase the revenue base of the sub county as they begin council business.

The appeal to the councillors was made on Friday 28th May 2021 at Global Eden Secondary School during the swearing in ceremony.

Hon.Mambo Asraf LCV chairperson of Koboko district challenged the new councillors to identify more revenue sources like quarrying, sand mining, among others in order to boost the revenue of the sub county.

While speaking to the councillors, Hon.Adriko Godfrey out gone chairperson says “our major challenge in the sub county is the poor revenue base and i call upon you (the councillors) to say no to politics of hatred but rather work as a team”.

Hon. Okuga George chairperson of the sub county says that councillors need to work as a team by consulting one another where necessary ” Let’s work as a team and consult so as to improve on service delivery in our sub county”, I don’t like issues of attacking one another in the council he repeats.
Meanwhile Hon Stima Fikira Zulaika Female councillor representing Dranya and Lobule sub counties congrugulates the former chairman for showing good example and pledges to attend the council sittings of the sub county” I pledge to attend the council sittings of the sub county and I call upon the clerk to council to always inform me for the council sittings as I’m here to take matters of the council to the district “.

Dranya Sub county will operate on an approved budget of 38 million in 2021-2022 financial year.
