Ediofe Girls Secondary School tops West Nile Region in 2022 UCE Examinations with 59 First Grades.

There was a lot of excitement upon receiving the Breaking News that Ediofe Girls Secondary school emerged as the best performing School in West Nile in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examinations for the academic year 2022. This excited the Students, who took to the Streets of Arua City to celebrate their Academic Victory singing and dancing. Alaru Magret Loyd, a senior three student says they hit the streets of Arua City in order to celebrate the 59 First Graders in the 2022 UCE. “We have the greatest Number of First Graders and that has made us to be the Best School in the region and this calls for real celebration and as you can see, all of us Very Happy for this Achievement.” She excitedly said.
The Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) Chairperson of Ediofe Girls Secondary School Asiteru Jovia was quoted as saying, Our last year’s candidates made us proud by putting in a lot of effort while concentrating in Class with the support of our dear gallant teachers that is why we have all come out celebrating.”

Meanwhile the Head teacher Ediofe Girls Secondary School Aciro Achan Josephine, gives us the outstanding statistics in that, out of the 170 Candidates who sat for the 2022 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examinations, 59 were in Division one, 91 in Division Two, 18 in Division Three and 02 in Division Four and that the best Candidate in Division one called Queen Rashid, scored a total Aggregate 16. “The Teachers worked very Hard and finished the syllabus early and gave enough time for revision with the Candidates.” she revealed.

According to Examining Body Uganda National Examinations Board, UCE candidature increased by 16,063 from 333,396 in 2020 to 349,459, in 2022 reversing the decrease of 4,324 that had been witnessed in the previous examination. The candidates sat from 3,703 centers. 
UNEB executive Director, Dan Odongo says, in 2022, 345,695 candidates out of which, 173,761 were males and 171,934 were females who appeared for the examinations compared to a total of 330,592 candidates who appeared for the examinations in 2020.
