Education for all: 33 year old mother of 3 returns to school for a bright future

Ms Mindraa Patricia, A 33 year old and a mother of 3 decided to go back to school in order to be empowered and create a better future for her and her children. Patricia rejoined school in order to build hope for her and her children’s’ hope. “The reasons why I went back to school is because I did not know where my future was going, I needed to build my future, I needed to bring up my children. That is the sole reason as to why I went back to school.” She Said.

Speaking to a group of stakeholders during a meeting held by women Democracy network, Mrs. Masia Lilian said empowering Patricia has enabled her achieve a lot including constructing her own house. “Patricia here is an evidence of a mother and now a student, who has just successfully sat her S4. The empowerment programs have prompted her to save money and now she has built her own house”
 
Lawrence Mvadeyo, a teacher believes that education is a life process and one can join school no matter the age. “Education itself is a lifelong process, be it formal or informal. The bigger problem in Africa or Uganda is beyond 25 it’s hard for people to go back to school yet beyond 50, you can still go back to school. You can become a professor or something else in Life.”
Adulthood education still remains a challenge for people in west Nile yet many people could become more enlightened through education.
