As most educational institutions are already for this year’s fast term holidays, stakeholders are calling upon parents to perform their parental responsibilities in order to ensure safety of their children in these holidays, and the learners are also expected to be supportive to their parents.
Schools across the country officially broke off for the fast term holidays on Friday, 5th of May 2023, and second term is expected to resume on 29th of May this year.

At the closure of the term, Joel Dralumani, the deputy head teacher incharge of academics at St Kizito orphans primary school, encouraged the parents to involve the learners in productive activities, and ensure their safety. “Involve them in activities that will make them ready for us to receive them back and safely next term, “Dralumani said

Madam Gloria Bako, the deputy head teacher incharge of administration calls upon the children to be supportive to their parents during the holidays, and expects the parents to guide them properly. “Please stay at home and support your parents, parents should also guide these children when they are at home, they really need guidance, “said Bako

Opionjia Gloria, a senior five student in St Mary’s Ediofe girls’ secondary school plans to balance her time for studies and other productive activities, and expects her colleagues to keep safe during the holidays. “Am planning to do my assignments and help my parents as well, I will have to make a timetable. To my colleagues out there, we have to keep safe, and out of danger, “Opionjia said

School holidays give families an opportunity to spend time together, and an opportunity for children to learn things not taught in school.
