If the stalling of Construction works at Arua Hill stadium continues, the construction site may turn out to be a hide out for Criminals. There is no activity currently ongoing at the construction site of the multi-billion Arua hill stadium as no workers could be sighted on ground.  Major parts of work have come to a standstill, several months after the developer requested the city authority to grant more 13 Months for the project to be completed from October 2022.

After a visit and tour of the site, at the time of compiling this report, you could hardly see any persons doing any construction work at any of the Block sites. Observation gave a bizarre feeling that the completion may take more time than anticipated.

The western side of the Stadium is near completion and works with fittings and paintings can be vividly seen.  But the Eastern side of the Stadium has the pillars raised and some part of the Walls uncompleted and it is getting bushier. On the Southern side facing Arua Hill Primary School the blocks raised has been raised to the first floor whereas the second floor super structure is halfway and the surroundings are getting very bushy as well.

Now, Development Infrastructure, a company undertaking the construction of Arua Hill Stadium was awarded a 49-years land lease agreement by Arua City Council under the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) Agreement Terms. In October 2022, during a special Council Engagement with councilors of Arua City, the Chairman of Development Infrastructure, Joel Aiita requested for 13 Months to adequately finish the remaining stadium components.

According to Aiita, the stadium design is done in such a way that the inside wall of the Business buildings is the wall of the Stadium; that therefore necessitate that the business buildings walls be erected first before the Stadium Pavilions are finally erected. “Right now we have started Discussions with a FIFA approved Company to do for us the Pitch. For the Pitch will be the last thing to be done and that will take them for about three months to install it”. He Revealed.
