Gulu
The archbishop of Gulu John Baptist Odama has urged Christians against dying in sin in the presence of oils, Eucharist and Gospel. The archbishop who was presiding over chrism mass in Gulu cathedral said, Christians should sanctify their hearts, body and the souls to be in communion with Christ. Anointment makes a Christian to be sanctified against pagan practices like wars, current wave of Homosexuality which would make them die in sin, Archbishop stressed.

Catechist Albino Opobo of St Mauritz say chrism oil is important because it’s the same oil used for anointing Jesus Christ. Albino added that the same oil is used for anointing elderly, infant baptism, priests and bishops during ordinations. Through receiving the oil, one becomes priest, prophet and king after receiving the holy Oil.

Monsignor Elia Pampeloni, a Comboni missionary says the chrism mass gives opportunity for all Christians to come into union with Christ.
Chrism Oil is used for Confirmations, Ordinations, blessing of churches and altars, and Baptisms. It symbolizes strength, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and consecrates someone or something to God's service.
