Arua city schools set for Term two Closure.

Schools in Arua city are set for second term closure. On the 27th July 2022, Newsroom noted that several of the schools are already giving learners end of term examinations while others are still preparing them with revision.The second term was supposed to last for 14 weeks, but it was interrupted by the teachers’ industrial action over salary.

Joel Dralumani, the deputy Head teacher in charge of academics in St Kizito Ediofe orphans Primary school, said they achieved much both academically and socially in second term compared to the first term. Robert Okello, the head teacher of Bishop Angelo Tarantino secondary school, said their biggest challenge was the sky rocketing commodity prices, which they managed to handle well in agreement with their suppliers.

Nasra Jamal, a senior two student in Arua Public secondary school, said the teachers’ industrial action affected her negatively, and therefore, aims to work hard in order to improve on her academic performance next term.

The second term for this academic year will officially close on the 12 of August 2022.
