A new School Management Committee for Arua Public Primary School has been given the oversight execution Powers. Arua Public Primary School is a cosmopolitan institution that welcomes any tribe and religion and was started in around 1950s by Indians and the School was later on handed over to the Government of Uganda. According to the Education Act Statutory Instrument 127—3 on the Education Management Committees Regulations; There shall be an established management committee for a school which shall consist of; four members appointed by the education committee of the area in which the school is situated one of whom shall be appointed a chairperson; two members elected by the parents of the school in accordance with the Schedule to these Regulations; and three members appointed by the chief education officer.

During the Handover Ceremony to the New School Management Committee, the Deputy Head Teacher, Akua Nester Said, the delay in the start of oversight work by the committee was because of the circumstances beyond their Control. “I want to thank the outgoing committees for their tireless efforts, even though you are handing over power, you are still part of us and we shall continue to consult you”. She said with gratitude.

While handing over office to the new Committee, the Out Going School Management Committee Chairman, Ezati Sam India, said, the School has a total of 24 Teachers on Government Payroll (10 Males and 14 Females), Whereas a total of 12(4 males and 8 Females) are employed by the  parents.  The school also has a total of 20 non-Teaching Staff in capacities of Bursar, Secretary, Office attendant, Patron, Librarian, Driver, Caterer, Cooks, Watchmen and Cleaners. On Enrolment he said that by the 14^th February 2023 the enrolment for Nationals stood at a total of 1268 (628 Males, 640 Females) whereas Non Nationals were a total of 108 (62 males, 46 Females). He continued to say that the School has Dormitory for both Boys and Girls, A modern Kitchen constructed by Parents, furniture, an Assembly Hall, offices, PA system Sets, School Bus and Football and Netball Fields among others. “I urge the New Committee to follow up the upcoming project under the Urban Refugee Management Program for the construction of staff Quarters, Modern Storage Dormitory for Girls and an Incinerator, installation of Projectors in Class and schools Feeding Program for all Learners which is scheduled to start by 1^st March   2023.” He revealed.

Drani SK, the Incoming School Management Chairman, while receiving instruments of power, called for concerted efforts in accomplishing tasks ahead.
“Let us take up the Challenge by allowing no sleep; for if we sleep, we shall not be accepted even in Heaven for bringing down the name of Arua Public Primary School”. He echoed.
