Arua Catholic Diocese receives icons of faith to host the next provincial youth conference in 2024.

Arua catholic diocese has been given icons of faith from Lira Catholic Diocese as the next host for the next provincial youth pilgrimage slated for September 2024.

The bishop ordinary of Arua Catholic Diocese, the Most Reverend, Sabino Ocan Odoki received the Monstrance, cross, statue of virgin Mary and portrait of Daudi Okello and Jildo Irwa on behalf of the youth.

After receiving the icons of faith, Bishop Odoki immediately confirmed that the pilgrimage shall be hosted at Indriani pilgrimage site in Adjumani district in September next year.

Rev. Sister Viola Azaru, the youth animator from Adjumani parish says they will start their preparations immediately in order for them to have a colorful conference next year.

Meanwhile, Ascensio Ocaya, the youth coordinator for Nebbi catholic diocese notes that the youth pilgrimage is acting as a unifying factor which he feels worth emulating by the other Catholic Dioceses and Archdioceses in Uganda.

The Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Gulu, the Most Reverend Dr. John Baptist Odama says the monstrance as one of the icons of faith symbolizes the presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist meanwhile the cross is a symbol of Arua catholic diocese.  

This youth pilgrimage started in 2017 focusing on the evangelizing the youth. The edition was held at Iceme Pilgrimage site in Lira catholic diocese.
Youth from the Archdiocese of Gulu, lira, Nebbi and Arua catholic dioceses being done in a rotational basis.
