FAMILY DENY MIRUNDI HIS UNCONVENTIONAL BURIAL WISH
NILE POST
Controversial analyst Tamale Mirundi declared he wants to be buried standing up, a wish he's determined to fulfill. “I’ve dug my own grave outside our ancestral grounds in Matale village. I will be buried standing,” Mirundi stated firmly.
He aimed to be remembered not as someone laid down in death but as someone who stood tall, even in the afterlife. Mirundi frequently reiterated this bizarre wish on his TV, radio, and online platforms, leaving his fans stunned.
In line with another family tradition, Mirundi insisted that after his death, his family should buy him the latest model car, just as they did for his late father, believing it was crucial for honoring his memory.
At his final send-off in Kalagala, Kyotera District, his son Joseph Tamale informed mourners that they did everything to honor their father’s wishes—except burying him standing and installing a TV in his grave.
“We couldn’t bury him standing; it’s just too unconventional in this day and age,” John Tamale, another son, remarked. “But we fulfilled his other requests, including contributing funds for funerals at his other homes and making a stopover at Lukaya, where he was well-known in the meat market.”
Vice President Jessica Alupo served as the chief mourner.
