Holy Cross catholic Parish in Kanyagoga B cell in Gulu Archdiocese welcomed it’s first-ever Curate on September 13, 2024, one year after it attained a parish status.
The vice Chancellor of Gulu Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Diego Anthony Okello has expressed his excitement saying the too much workload at the parish that used to be shouldered by the parish priest alone will now be shared between him and his curate. “I know the coming of Fr. Emmanuel here is a very great achievement because this will ease the work at the young parish.”
On the side of the new curate Rev Fr. Emmanuel thanked everyone for welcoming him and vowed to serve with Humility as the choir sang while welcoming him. “I will serve with humility, thank you choir for teaching me, you have taught me well. It`s unity that’s important, since this parish is under Holy cross, I will endeavor to carry the cross and never drop it, I will carry it with you, so we can preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ well,” he remarked.
The Chaplain for St. Jospeh’s College Layibi, Rev. Fr. David Kolo appreciated the parents of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel for grooming him into priesthood. “I thank you for sacrificing you first born child to priesthood, and that is a very good sign of faith it’s a big sacrifice to give the first child,” he said.
Rev Fr. Emmanuel Okello comes from Puranga Parish in Kitgum vicariate and he was ordained on August 3, 2024.
