Some Lord`s Resistance Army reporters in Acholi subregion have continued to battle with the wraths of being rejected by the community members which they are mostly attributing it to lack of proper integration after they came back home from the bush. The reporters raised this concern during a National Transitional Justice policy sensitization workshop held at the Amnesty commission`s office in Gulu City.
Denis Nkwansimbi Willy, the Amnesty commission`s Destabilization resettlement team leader for West Acholi confirms that as an entity they are being overwhelmed with such cases, however, he encourages the reporters to form themselves into a group so that they can easily tap on some of the government programs just like the other citizens. "Form yourselves into a group, not like the group of LRA reporters but rather just like the other citizens of this country, there are a number of government programs such as PDM, EMYOOGA, YOUTH LIVELIHOOD, UWEP, and so on, that you can benefit from, please", he remarked.

Meanwhile, Honorable Christopher Opiyo Ateker, the lc5 chairperson for Gulu district local government alleges that some actors have for long been using these LRA reporters as baits to get wealth for themselves. "we always hear their stories, there are people who are using these LRA reporters, in my district many of them (LRA reporters) are looked by the bankers because of loans which they were duped to take by such greedy actors, there are NGOS, rights activists in quotes who end up exploiting these LRA reporters" he stressed.

The Cabinet in June 2019 approved the National Transitional Justice Policy with the sole aim that once it`s formulated into a law will help to address the issues of past human rights violations in order to promote justice, accountability, reconciliation as well as sustainable peace but to date it has remained at a policy level.
