Reach a hand with support from the agakan foundation has embarked on plans of helping vulnerable teenage mothers who got pregnant at the height of the covid 19 pandemic. During a hand over of some assorted food items to the beneficiaries at oil headquarters, Khalifa Drajiru a 17 year old mother was excited to receive beans, maize flour, rice and maternal kits among others. She expressed gratitude for the positive response by agakan to come to their aid. Albert Ongom the programme officer of Reach a hand cautioned the beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them but not sell them off.

Muzaid Khemis, the Mayor Arua Central demands the development partners to always work outside the box by ensuring that the youth are trained and given appropriate skills to sustain their lives. He says handouts such as food iterms can come and go but a skill can be used to earn a living. About 500 young teenage mothers received the tokens, both in arua city and vurra subcounty.
