Terego District Health department is facing hitches in providing health services for the members of the community due to lack of transport means for health facilities in the district. This was revealed during a meeting held at the district headquarters.
Mr. Simon Amandi, the District health officer Terego said that, the available motorcycles and vehicles, health facilities have, are insufficient before calling the health personnel to work in unison as the district plans to procure more of the machines.
“As directed by the ministry of health, we are continuously going to work together, we need to trust one another, we need to give feedback, we need to communicate, we need to do our best as inscribed by the guidelines of public standing orders,” stated Simon.
Meanwhile, Arubaku Bosco Peter, the chairman social services articulated that, maximum attention should be paid to the health sector. “Issues with health are not supposed to be tempered with, which majority are not aware of, even you cannot gamble issues with health unless you are a registered health practitioner,” said Arubaku.
However, the Resident District Commissioner Terego, Festus Ayikobua appealed to the district leadership that, “ Can we have all the health centers whether health center IIs or IIIs, the in charges have motorcycles, I don’t see why we should be here in the district where we have our vehicles, whether private cars or what grabbing these motorcycles, at times we talk a lot of kind words that we are all working for Terego , we love Terego when we are doing the opposite, we want to say we love Terego when we have two motorcycles parked in our compounds, what love is this?” questioned the RDC.
Reliable transport in health sector plays a crucial role in enhancing patients satisfaction, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and ultimately, improving health outcomes.
