YOUTHS OF ARUA DIOCESE TO ANIMATE THE PROVINCIAL PILGRIMAGE TO HOLY CROSS INDRIANI IN ADJUMANI DISTRICT

More than 1000 youths are expected to converge in Pakele sub parish for the holy cross pilgrimage to Indriani which will be animated by the youths of Arua diocese.
The Arua diocesan youth Chaplain Rev Fr William Andima is impressed with the preparations of the young people.
“One thing that has impressed me is the readiness of the young people, as you can see some of them have arrived and are ready to travel to Adjumani for the pilgrimage and I really want to appreciate the parents and the young people who have taken part in this year’s pilgrimage”.

The vice youth leader of Arua diocese Pasculina Alesi says the youths are ready and prepared to animate the provincial pilgrimage. “In terms of liturgy preparation such as songs, petition prayers and all other parts in liturgy for all those days are ready and everything is already set in place and as I talk right now some of the youth leaders are already on ground to organize and arrange other remaining programs”.
Kevin Masia a youth from Ediofe parish expressed excitement as she expects to learn a lot during the provincial pilgrimage. “I am very happy and excited because it will be my first time to go to Adjumani, I will be learning a lot of things about the place, learn from the teachings and also participate in the holy mass and put what we have learn into practice,” she said.
Joshua Opinira one of the young pilgrims from Ediofe parish shared his reason of going to the Holy Cross shrine Idriani. “Most of us young people are in school, there are challenges with school fees and at homes because sometimes our parents are sick so my main aim of going there is to pray for my parents and family members in order to provide for us our needs.”
On September 14, a provincial pilgrimage is made to Holy cross Idriani a place where the first comboni missionaries settled in Arua diocese in 1912.
“Anyone who does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple” is the theme for this year’s provincial pilgrimage to Holy Cross shrine Indriani which will be held in Adjumani district.
