Muslim leaders in Rahman mosque in Moyo town have called Muslims to embrace Quran readings to increase their faith during this Holy Month of Ramadan
Ramadan is a month of fasting and abstaining from things considered to be impure for the mind and body. Kanah Musa, an Imam in Rahman mosque in moyo town says during the Ramadan, Muslims should observe the five pillars of Islam.

“If you are fasting, don’t engage in violent  behaviors, abuses and fighting, this can spoil your fasting and during the Ramadan always pray, fasting without praying is meaningless, you must pray the five times Islamic prayers in a day as a meaningful fasting.” Imam Musa said. He said the holy month of Ramadan is for reading the Quran, whether two or even three time right from Jews one to the end which will help them  to avoid impure actions.

Those partaking in Ramadan abstain from food, drink and impure thoughts between the hours of sunrise and sunset, allowing them instead to focus on prayer and connecting with Allah.

Gai Juma Hassan who prays in Rahman mosque asked members of the Muslim to avoid impure acts to keep the month holly. “We have started fasting, it will take us 30 or 29 days which depends on sighting of the moon. Now when you are fasting you must have to read the Quran and it’s not only avoiding eating but also adjusting your social behavior that can spoil your Ramadan.” He also added that Muslims should observe the evening prayer at 8 pm {tarawil} to nourish your faith.

The act of fasting allows the individuals to understand the pain and suffering of millions around the world who live their lives in poverty and famine, leaving the participant feeling more grounded and grateful for all that Allah has given them. At the close of the month, Zakat donations during Ramadan are made and then Eid al-Fitr is celebrated with loved ones.
