77000 VOTERS IN OYAM DISTRICT HAVE NO POLLING STATIONS

At least 77,000 voters in Oyam district have no polling stations less than two years to the 2026 general elections.
This was revealed by Moses Meregurwa the district registration officer at NIRA Oyam branch while addressing press at Oyam town council on Tuesday October 22, 2024, during the ongoing registration of citizens for national identification cards.
According to Meregurwa, that means that they may not participate in the election of leaders in the fourth coming 2026 general elections, adding that the current exercise which started on September 27, 2024 and is running up to November 23, 2024 in all sub counties in the district.
Sam Owili the Lc1 Chairperson of Teduka cell in Eastern Ward at Oyam town Council appreciated the good turn up of people for this registration exercise, however he revealed some of his colleague leaders are disappointing them by failing to come with official stamps for their offices to serve the community which has promoted him to help these affected persons so that they can be able to acquire the national identity cards.
He appeal to the general public to consider the importance of national identity cards before they decide not to register for it.
